Mount Cook Autumn Light Landscape Photography Prints

Mount Cook Autumn Light

New Zealand Landscape Photography Prints by Stephen Milner

Because of the subtle warm light and vibrant colours, autumn is a beautiful season to visit Mount Cook (Aoraki).  Mount Cook is the highest mountain in New Zealand. It soars into the sky at 3,724 metres and is part of the Southern Alps mountain range that runs the length of the South Island. Mount Cook is a popular tourist destination, and it is a favourite challenge for mountain climbers. It is a prominent landmark in the central South Island region of New Zealand, and many stunning Glaciers surrounding it, including the Tasman glacier, the Hooker Glacier, the Fox Glacier, and the Franz Joseph Glacier. The Tasman and Hooker glaciers feed into Lake Pukaki.

The name Aoraki traditions from the Ngāi Tahu iwi; an early name for the South Island is Te Waka o Aoraki (Aoraki's Canoe). New Zealanders Tom Fyfe, John Michael (Jack) Clarke and George Graham are known for the first ascent via the Hooker Valley and the north ridge on 25 December 1894.

How many times have you searched the internet or local galleries to find the perfect piece of artwork for your wall space and have been confused by the many options that are available to you?

Buying and displaying artwork can be a confusing process because of many factors. When it comes to choosing and displaying artwork on your wall space, the questions to ask are:

      1. What mood do I want to create in my room?
      2. How much wall space do I have?
      3. What is my existing colour scheme?
      4. What weight can my wall space hold without bracing it?
      5. What are the natural lighting conditions in the room?
      6. Where can I buy custom frames?
      7. How do I look after my artwork?

The purpose of this guide is to help you choose the perfect piece of artwork for your wall space, select a suitable frame for your new purchase that works in your room, choose a framer, decide where to place your framed artwork, and understand the care regime of your framed artwork.
