New Zealand Landscape Photographer tries Cinestill BwXX (Double X) 120

A New Zealand Landscape Photographer story

New Zealand Landscape Photographer Stephen Milner tries out Cinestill BwXX (Double X). Cinestill BwXX (Double X) was released in 2021 and it is an ISO 200 - 800 black and white film. In today’s video, we will be creating some beautiful square format black and white images with my Mamiya 6 medium format film camera and Cinestill BwXX at ISO 200. My film is developed in Ilfotec DD-X. I hope you enjoy the video.

The Cinestill BwXX (Double X) developed in Ilfotec DD-X turned out ok. Ilfotect DD-X did its usual thing of providing a low contrast negative. After developing my film, I used my Epson V800 and Silverfast to digitalise the negative into Lightroom. In Lightroom, I increased contrast in the sky. Sharpness and grain seems to be about the same as other B&W films I have used.
