In 2019 I entered a selection of my images from the previous year into the Fine Art Photography Awards across three separate series, and all of my entries were nominated.
As my good friend Richard Massey says, if you want to catch the big one your line has to be in the water. Every image entered was shot on the Mamiya 7 medium format film camera system, which has shaped much of my early work.
The Fine Art Photography Awards is an international competition, so having a full body of medium format film work nominated across three series was real encouragement to keep developing my eye. Shooting film slows you down and makes every frame count, a discipline that still shapes how I photograph today.
You can see my awarded and recognised pieces on the Awards page, and browse the wider catalogue of black and white wall art.
