The Editions

Every artwork in Stephen Milner's catalogue is released in one of two editions. This page explains how they work, in plain terms.

Why editions exist

In Stephen's words: a limited edition piece is recognition that environments change over time through their weathering. It acknowledges the uniqueness of a scene, and the amount of effort and consideration required to capture it. Some of these places will never look the same again.

Limited Edition Exclusives

The collector tier. Each limited edition piece is released in a fixed edition. When the edition sells through, it closes and the piece is retired from sale. A certificate of authenticity is available on request with every limited edition print.

Open Edition Classics

The accessible tier. Open edition prints carry no edition limit and no closing date. They are the natural place to start a collection, printed to order with the same two finishes and the same care as the limited catalogue.

What closing an edition means

When a limited edition sells its final print, that artwork leaves the store. It is not reprinted, reissued or moved to the open tier. Owning a piece from a closed edition means owning something that can no longer be bought.

The certificate

A certificate of authenticity is available with every limited edition print. Contact stephen@stephen-milner.com with your order number and one will be arranged for your piece.
