In 2018 one of my black and white landscape images was awarded third place in the D-Photo Magazine competition, chosen from 13,329 entries submitted across the competition.
Thank you to the New Zealand photography magazine D-Photo for selecting my image for third place in their landscape category. I was humbled to attend a gallery showing for the winning photographs and to accept the prize from the sponsor, Profoto, and to see my image published in the August and September 2018 issue of the magazine.
D-Photo is one of New Zealand's best known photography magazines, so to be recognised among such a large field of entries, from photographers right across the country, was a real milestone in my early years behind the camera. It is the kind of encouragement that keeps you heading out before dawn for the next image.
