The Redwoods, or Whakarewarewa Forest, on the edge of Rotorua in the Bay of Plenty, mixes towering Californian redwoods with a dense native understorey of tree ferns. The forest floor is a tangle of fronds beneath the high canopy.
Stephen Milner photographed the tall native ferns in black and white, light filtering through and catching their fronds against the deep shade of the forest.
Printed to order at a specialist fine art lab and finished by hand:
-
Under acrylic glass. The print is face mounted behind matte acrylic glass on a rigid backing and sealed for life, for deep blacks, a glare free surface and a true gallery finish.
-
In a Basel frame. A solid 15mm moulding with a shadow gap that sets the image just proud of the wall, in black, white, natural oak or walnut.
Available in three ultra wide panoramic sizes from 113cm to 198cm wide. Custom sizes on request.
Part of Stephen Milner's New Zealand fine art landscape collection.
