My thanks to NZ Photographer Magazine for covering the story behind my fine art photography book, Volcanic Aotearoa.
It is always a privilege to have the work and the story behind it shared with a wider photography audience, and I am grateful to the magazine for the feature. Volcanic Aotearoa explores the colours, shapes, history and Maori legends of New Zealand's volcanic landscape.
The book grew out of years of returning to the Central Plateau and its volcanoes, and coverage like this helps that story reach people who share a love of the New Zealand landscape. My thanks again to the team for their support of independent photography. For any photographer working on a personal project, having a respected magazine take an interest is a real boost, and I hope the feature encourages others to see their own long term projects through to a finished book.
