Two trees stand together in winter fog on the Waikato plains, near Mount Pirongia, south-west of Hamilton in the central North Island. The pairing, a larger tree sheltering a smaller one, gives the piece its name.
Stephen Milner photographed them in medium format as a black-and-white study, the fog stripping the scene back to two dark forms in soft grey light.
Printed to order at a specialist fine art lab and finished by hand:
-
Under acrylic glass. The print is face mounted behind matte acrylic glass on a rigid backing and sealed for life, for deep blacks, a glare free surface and a true gallery finish.
-
In a Basel frame. A solid 15mm moulding with a shadow gap that sets the image just proud of the wall, in black, white, natural oak or walnut.
Available in three sizes from 80cm to 120cm square. Custom sizes on request.
